We are thrilled to announce our two shows for this inaugural new works festival!

Yo! This Is What It Is

by Hilda Willis

The true story of Terence, a gifted Black athlete and Army veteran whose lite spirals into addiction, homelessness, and despair after a series of traumatic events. This is a tribute to all those battling unseen wounds.

Leave No

Meet the Playwrights!

Kittridge “Kitty” Janvrin is a transplant from Columbia, South Carolina whose love of words has directed her career and creative life. Her play “The Silenced” and its accompanying research was selected as a finalist for William A. Mould Outstanding Senior Thesis at the University of South Carolina, and she was selected to write for the inaugural cohort of Queen City New Plays Initiative. A social media marketing professional in Charlotte by day, she continues to dabble in theatre as a local arts supporter, avid audience member, and occasional performer. She is currently serving on the board of BOOM Charlotte.

Hilda Willis is a producer, director, and performing artist.

She is also a playwright. She moved to North Carolina in 2010 and became a resident in 2013. While she has been in the arts and entertainment business for many years and still does several projects a year in other major markets, she has focused much of her creative work here in the state of North Carolina. She is very excited about her latest play and would love to see it developed here in the Carolinas.
